Milavous Group has recently acquired Green Energy Chemicals, a subsidiary that specializes in producing Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA) and CO₂ from agricultural sources. With a manufacturing facility under construction in Adana/Kozan, Turkiye, the plant is expected to have an annual production capacity of 26,500 metric tons of ENA, 24,000 metric tons of DDGS, and 17,500 metric tons of CO₂, scheduled to commence production in June 2024. This acquisition is part of Milavous Group’s ongoing efforts to expand its product portfolio and provide high-quality products to its customers.

ENA, or food-grade ethanol, is a highly sought-after product with anti-microbial, refreshing, drying, and high volatility properties. It is widely used in various industries, including beverages, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. ENA is a crucial ingredient in products with direct exposure to human skin, such as hand disinfectants, hairsprays, and mouthwashes, as well as household products.

Green Energy Chemicals’ production of high-purity biogenic CO₂, a valuable by-product of the ethanol manufacturing process, is also noteworthy. CO₂ is used in various markets, including food, beverage, and dry ice applications, and new pathways for its use in the production of fuels, chemicals, and building materials are generating global interest. Milavous Group intends to produce ethanol in different grades (96%, 99%, and fuel grade) as well as CO₂ of agricultural origin under the Green Energy Chemicals brand, according to the client’s preferences, with a focus on quality and safe delivery.

Milavous Group is committed to providing its clients with top-tier raw materials for their production and processing needs. The acquisition of Green Energy Chemicals will significantly enhance its capacity to do so. The next plant development study has already been initiated to produce value-added agriculture-based raw materials i.e. sweeteners etc., which will further expand the group’s product offerings.
